Since 2015, we have been proud to be the musical partner of Bregje, a dynamic franchise brand that is part of the Club Culinair hospitality group. Bregje, which is rapidly growing, now has 28 restaurants across the Netherlands. The core of Bregje is offering delicious and affordable food in a warm, homely setting. Our carefully curated music selection plays a crucial role in creating this ambiance.

The Homely Atmosphere of Bregje: More Than Just Food

Bregje is about more than just good food; it’s a place where guests feel at home. This feeling is enhanced by an interior that feels warm and cozy, combined with welcoming and friendly service from the staff. The music we select perfectly complements this atmosphere, with a mix of beautiful Dutch songs, French chansons, country, acoustic music, and lesser-known relaxed tracks. While Top 40 music also has a place in our playlists, we make sure to regularly replace these songs to maintain the desired ambiance.

Music as a Crucial Element for the Homely Atmosphere at Bregje

At Bregje, we aim to create a cozy, old-fashioned feeling as if you were dining in your own living room. This ambiance is enhanced by adding ‘guilty pleasures’ to the playlist. These tracks, which are rarely heard elsewhere, contribute to the homely and familiar atmosphere of the restaurant.

The Origins and Growth of Bregje

The concept for Proeflokaal Bregje was developed in 2014, and the first location opened that same year in The Hague. Roland Hogenelst, the owner and founder, identified a gap in the market for an affordably priced three-course menu. The popularity of this concept quickly led to expansion, and today, Bregje restaurants are spread throughout the country. Roland has ambitious growth plans, aiming to open ten to fifteen new locations annually. This growth is essential for the franchisees’ profitability, supported by Club Culinair’s own wholesale business, which handles the centralized procurement of food and non-food products.

Rebranding to Bregje and the Musical Partnership

Recently, the name Proeflokaal Bregje was shortened to simply Bregje. As part of this rebranding, a new logo and refreshed brand identity were introduced, and all locations are being adapted to reflect this new look.
