Purdey has a rich history, dating back to 1980 when Neel and Tim Wolters opened the very first store in the Netherlands. Since then, Purdey has expanded rapidly, opening a second store in Apeldoorn in 1988. Today, the Netherlands is home to 26 beautiful Purdey stores.

For several years now, we have been proud of our close collaboration with Heinde & Ver, where we provide custom-tailored music for their ‘unlimited dining’ restaurants. Recently, Heinde & Ver has taken an exciting new step in their development and entered the future with the simplified name ‘Heinde.’ This new approach retains the familiar closeness indicated by their previous name, but with even more power and a fresh look.
Our partnership with Heinde has always been based on creating the perfect harmony between their brand story and the musical atmosphere in their restaurants. Rebranding The rebranding of Heinde & Ver is ambitious and represents a complete transformation. A revision of the logo, the corporate identity, and the full interior design of all their locations forms the foundation of this change. The debut of this new style took place in Almelo, where the first revamped location opened its doors on September 21st. This marks the beginning of a series of transformations, with each location set to undergo a makeover in the near future.

Heinde is a growing success story. The concept of “unlimited dining” has been a huge success. Currently, there are already 11 Heinde locations across the country, and in the coming six months, another six openings are planned.

Engelbewaarder by Marco Schuitmaker is the Biggest Pub Hit of 2023!
On Monday, October 2, the annual Buma NL event took place, culminating in the Buma NL Awards ceremony at the vibrant Poppodium 013 in Tilburg. The event honors the Dutch-language music scene, and the evening was made particularly memorable for Marco Schuitmaker, who emerged as the big winner.
During the ceremony, various talents in the genre of levenslied (Dutch life song) were celebrated, but Marco Schuitmaker stole the show by taking home two prestigious awards. He was recognized with the prize for the most successful single of 2023 and also received the Xenox Award for the most successful pub hit of the year. Both awards were given for his song Engelbewaarder, written by Pierre Kartner, which spent an impressive 25 weeks in the Top 40.
The Xenox Award was presented in collaboration with Buma Cultuur and is based on download and streaming data from our music and media systems in Dutch hospitality venues between June 1, 2022, and June 1, 2023.
Buma NL is known as an annual event where interactive panels, discussions, masterclasses, showcases, and the Buma NL Awards ceremony come together. The event serves as the professional epicenter for anyone involved in Dutch-language music. This year, the focus was on connection through creation,highlighting the authors and composers of Dutch-language works.

Collaboration in the Spotlight: Norah and Xenox
At Xenox, we are excited to spotlight our newest client: Norah, the leading women’s clothing store.
Norah has steadily grown since 2014 and now has more than 90 stores across the Netherlands and Belgium. It’s been an impressive journey, and we are proud to be a part of Norah’s success story.
It all began with an initial meeting with Norah’s team at our office in Tricht to better understand the Norah brand. We explored Norah’s core values and listened to the needs of their diverse customer base. As Sylvana Theeboom, Marketing Coordinator at Norah, expressed: “Our discussions led to the selection of music that perfectly matches the desired atmosphere in the Norah stores.”
Careful Selection The custom-made music channel, Norah Radio, features a music profile that includes current, friendly, and warm tunes, ranging from the ’80s to the present. We’ve carefully chosen tracks that are recognizable but also have a quirky twist, creating a unique atmosphere. The music is designed to subtly engage customers, giving them a warm and welcoming feeling.
Tracks with a Danceable Touch Norah Radio also occasionally includes Dutch-language music and tracks with a danceable vibe, but without the typical club feel. We’ve carefully selected pop tracks that create a pleasant and energetic atmosphere, ensuring that customers have a positive experience while shopping. We avoid explicit lyrics and coarse language to make the in-store experience as enjoyable as possible.

Step into the enchanting world of Cosmo Hairstyling, where since 1986, the art of hair care and styling has been mastered to perfection. With nearly 50 salons across the Netherlands, Cosmo has always been at the forefront of the latest trends in beauty and fashion. But what is the secret behind the success of this brand?
To learn more about Cosmo Hairstyling, we spoke with Martin Oostveen, Operational Manager Franchise at Cosmo Hairstyling. “At Cosmo Hairstyling, it’s all about the customer and the overall experience,” says Martin. “We don’t just want to provide the best hair service; we also want to create an environment where customers feel special and pampered, and the right music certainly plays a big part in that.”
The search for that total experience led Cosmo Hairstyling to Xenox, where the initial contact was crucial in understanding the core values of Cosmo Hairstyling and the needs of its customers. Martin explains: “We want to be modern and high-end, but also fashion-conscious, surprising, and trendsetting. Our customers need to feel that they are part of something special, which is why we were looking for a partner who could translate our vision into a harmonious musical experience.”
Ron Klijn, music specialist at Xenox, faced the challenge of seamlessly translating this feeling into music. The goal was to create a musical experience that combines the feeling of high-end luxury with a light, optimistic atmosphere. Martin emphasizes: “We don’t just want music as background; we want it to enrich the senses. The feeling of luxury and well-being plays a crucial role.”
Ron explains: “In our music selection, we consciously chose tropical vibes that evoke a sense of relaxation and positivity. The vibrant energy of Ibiza adds an exciting dynamic, while a touch of glitter and glamour elevates the experience. All of this comes together to create a unique sound that perfectly aligns with Cosmo Hairstyling’s brand identity.” The music selection takes into account the rhythm to maintain a constant, immersive atmosphere while keeping diversity. With a tempo ranging from 100 to 120 bpm, the desired energy and a pleasant flow are created.

In addition to the Branded Music Channel heard throughout the salons, Xenox has developed a separate music channel for some Cosmo Hairstyling salons, specifically for the wellness area. The melodies, harmonies, and rhythms are carefully selected to promote a sense of relaxation and positive energy, with an emphasis on soothing sounds and refined instrumental compositions. With this, Cosmo goes a step further in seamlessly integrating music into the overall concept.
For Cosmo Hairstyling, it is crucial that the music contributes to a vibrant atmosphere in the salons, where both customers and staff feel welcome. Martin emphasizes: “It’s not just about the hair treatment you receive; it’s about the overall experience. We want customers to feel special from the moment they walk in.”
